Talk about boldly going where no one's gone before ... or at least in the last several movies: Star Trek continues director J.J. Abrams' hot streak reviving previously moribund franchises (his last directorial effort, Mission: Impossible III, gave the Tom Cruise trilogy a badly needed jolt). The film doesn't skimp on jaw-slackening special effects, but also manages to tell a slightly convoluted sequel/prequel tale without completely losing the thread. That everyone on screen appears to be having so much fun is merely a bonus. The three disc Blu-ray set includes an exclusive digital copy, as well as filmmaker commentary, deleted scenes, a gag reel and a slew of featurettes. (Paramount, $39.99 Blu-ray; $29.99 DVD)
