What to know: The returning 2005 competitor has been a soloist with Cleveland Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra and has appeared in recital at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Chicago’s Ravinia "Rising Stars" Festival and the National Music Auditorium in Madrid.

Di Wu, 24, China, 2:05 p.m.
What to know: A competitor in 2005, her international engagements include recitals at the Busoni International Piano Festival in Italy and at Germany’s Klavier Festival Ruhr, as well as at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris.
What she’ll play: Haydn: Sonata in C major, Hob. XVI:48

Vassilis Varvaresos, 26, Greece, 3:10 p.m.
What to know: The youngest pianist (at age 14), to be awarded First Prize at the Young Concert Artists International Auditions, he has made recital debuts at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
What he’ll play: Beethoven: Sonata in C-sharp minor, Op. 27, No. 2, "Moonlight"

Nobuyuki Tsujii, 20, Japan, 7:30 p.m.
What to know: Blind since birth, he made a Carnegie Hall debut at age 12 and has performed with several of Japan’s leading orchestras and appeared in the Czech Republic, Russia and Taiwan.
What he’ll play: Chopin: Twelve Etudes, Op. 10
Debussy: Images, Book I
Liszt: Paganini Etude No. 3, "La Campanella"
Naomi Kudo, 22, USA/Japan, 8:35 p.m.
What to know: At age 18, she was a finalist at the 2005 International Chopin Competition in Warsaw and was featured in Defining Chopin, a documentary film about the four American pianists in that competition.
What she’ll play: Vine: Piano Sonata No. 1 (1990)

Zhang Zuo, 20, China, 9:40 p.m.
What to know: She counts among her awards first prize in the 2006 International Piano Concerto Competition in China and the prize for excellent performance by a pianist under 21 at the 2005 International Franz Liszt Piano Competition.
