Blind pianist, youngest competitor tie for gold
Blind pianist, teen competitor are both awarded gold medals at the Cliburn.

The Van Cliburn Foundation on Sunday awarded gold medals to Nobuyuki Tsujii, a blind pianist from Japan, and Haochen Zhang, the 19-year-old phenom from China, in the 13th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.
Yeol Eum Son, 23, of Korea captured the silver medal.
No crystal award, or third prize, was given.
Jury discretionary awards went to Lukas Vondracek, 22, of Czech Republic; Alessandro Deljavan, 22, of Italy; and Eduard Kunz, 28, of Russia.
Two pianists were awarded the prize for best performance of chamber music: Evgeni Bozhanov, 25, of Bulgaria, and Son.
Tsujii also was awarded the prize for best performance of a new work.
