In the latest in a you-need-a-scorecard-to-keep-up series of changes at KVIL/103.7 FM, Tanner Kloven has been named the new afternoon DJ at the hot-adult-contemporary station.
This might not be a hugely noticeable change, as Kloven had already been handling the afternoon slot on a temporary basis (he was already on afternoons when he was featured in DFW.com’s 2016 Hot Issue in September). Snce coming to the station in April, the former Amazing Race contestant has also done middays and nights.
Kloven, who as born and raised in Fort Worth, appeared on the fall 2015 season of The Amazing Racewith his Dallas buddy Josh Ahern, competing as #TeamTexas. (Coincidentally, Ahern was featured in DFW.com’s 2015 Hot Issue.)
To recap: At the beginning of this year, the afternoon show was Leigh Ann and Courtney Kerr Uncorked, which inspired a DFW.com feature about the show, one of the few radio shows co-hosted by two women. A couple of months later, Kerr was dropped from the show, and KVIL veteran Leigh Ann Adam continued doing it solo. Then Adam was moved to middays, and Kloven took over the afternoon slot.
Kloven’s original midday gig occurred after former midday personality Sybil Summers moved to mornings to co-host Kannon & Sybil More Music Mornings with Mike Kannon, who joined the station in March 2015.
The station does not currently have a permanent night jock.
