In the galleries: Christopher Blay’s ‘Satellites’ CentralTrak

Posted 12:00am on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014

Artist Christopher Blay is temporarily the artist-in-residence at CentralTrak in Dallas, a residency sponsored by the University of Texas at Dallas. Usually Blay haunts Fort Worth as Frank Artsmarter, but lately his net has spread to neighboring cities. He has an opening Saturday night at CentralTrak with his “Satellites” exhibit, which will run through Sept. 20. His arsenal of foil-covered objects looks as if it could send and receive messages. It was suggested that visitors to the opening wear self-crafted foil hats to protect from unwanted radio signals. The artist’s reply, “Do it!” Opening reception 8-10 p.m. Saturday. 800 Exposition Ave., Dallas. 214-824-9302; http://centraltrak.com or http://blayblogger.blogspot.com.
