George Strait farewell concert special airing Aug. 29

Posted 12:33pm on Monday, Aug. 18, 2014

Two months ago, George Strait said farewell to the touring life with a three-hour, 41-song blowout at AT&T Stadium.

For those who weren’t among the 104,793 on hand inside the stadium, now you’ll have a chance to sample what unfolded that memorable evening.

On Aug. 29, CMT will air a two-hour special titled “George Strait: The Cowboy Rides Away,” which will feature performances from the June concert.

Additionally, a 20-track live album, titled “The Cowboy Rides Away: Live at AT&T Stadium,” is due out Sept. 16 on Strait’s continued label home, MCA Nashville.
