Adopt me! Meet Sky the gerbil

Posted 5:07pm on Wednesday, Aug. 06, 2014

ID No. A23423601

Sky is an adorable, inquisitive 1-year-old gerbil. He has soft, charcoal-colored fur and the sweetest little face. Sky was transferred into the Humane Society of North Texas from another shelter, so staffers don’t know much about his past, but everybody knows what a quirky little furball he is. The picture of cuteness, Sky loves to rise on his back legs and beg for treats! He also enjoys nibbling on fresh vegetables. Sky would do best in a home committed to the taking care of a small mammal. Gerbils make a greater starter pet for children 8 years and older. Unlike hamsters, they are most active during the day. Their antics are very entertaining to watch. If you are interested in bringing this little critter into your home, please visit HSNT’s East Lancaster location.

The Humane Society of North Texas is at 1840 E. Lancaster Ave. and 6708 S. Hulen St., Fort Worth; 363 Keller Parkway, Keller; and 9009 Benbrook Blvd./U.S. 377 S, Benbrook. It is open for adoptions seven days a week. For hours and adoption information, call 817-332-4768 or visit www.hsnt.org, where you can also view adoptable animals.
