In the galleries: Benito Huerta’s ‘Fresh Perspective’ at Amon Carter Museum

Posted 12:00am on Friday, Jul. 25, 2014

If you have ever wondered what artists respond to when they visit an art museum, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art has an exhibition that addresses that. The museum invited local contemporary artist Benito Huerta to cull the collection to find pieces he finds compelling. “Fresh Perspectives: Benito Huerta and the Collection” will be on display through Jan. 11. It pairs Huerta’s drawings, watercolors and prints with historic works on paper. This exhibition is timed to complement the installation of Huerta’s monumental painting Axis Mundi v. 2, which will reside in the Carter’s Atrium gallery for the duration of the “Fresh Perspectives” exhibit. 3501 Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth. Free. 817-738-1933; www.cartermuseum.org.
