Tori Amos at Winspear Opera House
Having risen to prominence in the ’90s, classically trained pianist and singer-songwriter Tori Amos has spent much of the ensuing decades wandering in the creative wilderness. (Cue a Silent All These Years wisecrack.) After a series of baroque (even for her) records steeped in strings, Amos is back to pop-rock form on her latest long-player, Unrepentant Geraldines. Her tour in support of Geraldines brings her back to DFW for the first time in a few years, and to a venue that, on paper, she would seem ideal for. Here’s hoping she’s still got that unique Spark. With Trevor Moss and Hannah-Lou.
7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Winspear Opera House, Dallas. $39.50-$49.50.
Austin Mahone at Verizon Theatre
If you believe the buzz, this 18-year-old San Antonio native is the second coming of Justin Bieber. The jury’s still out on that one, although the inanely catchy Mmm Yeah, Mahone’s lead single from his EP, The Secret, did crack the top 50 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. Where he goes from here, only time will tell, but this much is certain: If you’re going to his concert, be prepared for, in addition to fluffy pop-rap, ear-bleeding screams from his faithful fans. With the Vamps, Fifth Harmony and Shawn Mendes.
7 p.m. Sunday. Verizon Theatre, Grand Prairie. $29.50-$65.
