Colorado’s Modmarket moving into DFW

Posted 9:06pm on Monday, Jul. 21, 2014

Two years ago, when Start -- with their motto of “real food fast” -- opened on Greenville Avenue in Dallas serving healthy takes on fast-food specialties like burgers and tater tots, who knew it would be a harbinger of things to come?

Since then, the area has seen a wave of healthy take-out spots like Simply Fit in Fort Worth, Allen, Dallas, and Plano while California’s Lyfe Kitchen and Austin’s Snap Kitchen are having dueling openings in locations in Dallas and Plano this month. (LyfeKitchen is in Uptown’s West Village and is due to open Friday while Snap Kitchen’s Uptown location across from the Crescent Hotel opened last Saturday. Both are planning other locations throughout the area).

Now, according to Culture Map, the quinoa is really going to be flying as another chain is joining the fray. Colorado’s Modmarket reportedly is planning to open outlets in Dallas (Walnut Hill and Central), Flower Mound, Southlake and Plano.

So, how much is too much of a good-for-you thing?
