The scene for BVB Dallas' Team Blonde pool party

DALLAS -- BvB Dallas got its seventh season underway on June 7th with its kickoff party at Sisu Uptown Resort and continued this past weekend with the annual Team Blonde party at the swimming pool of the IMT Seville in Dallas.

The BvB season -- formerly known as Blondes vs. Brunettes Dallas -- is a 10-week period where 200 young professionals in the Dallas area raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care through various social events that culminates with the big Team Blonde vs. the Bru Crew powder puff football game on August 16 at the historic Cotton Bowl in Fair Park.

Since I was on my way from Fort Worth up to Frisco for the Dirk Nowitzki Heroes Celebrity Baseball Game, I took the opportunity to drop by the Team Blonde party and check out the scene. Everything got underway around 1 p.m. with DJ Joe Ramirez, the "Official DJ of BvB Dallas," spinning and the people began arriving early. With the $15 donation at the door, patrons were treated to Bud Light -- the event's presenting sponsor -- and Deep Eddy Vodka along with pizza provided by Primebar and frozen yogurt from Yogurtland.

Local swimsuit designer Bask Boutique was on hand with a step-and-repeat banner for people to get their pictures taken and those who reposted the photos on social media were entered into a contest to win a new swimsuit. There was also a beer pong tournament played in Sweet 16 bracket-style that was refereed by Team Blonde coach Rusty Haake.

The Team Blonde pool party was the organization's biggest pool party to date, drawing 420 people and raising over $7,000. This year's BvB Dallas goal is to raise $400,000 which will raise their seven-year total to just shy of $2 million. The Bru Crew's pool party will take place in July, with a date and location to be announced soon on the BvB Facebook page.

Also on the agenda for the BvB Dallas is the auction to be held on July 26 at Trees in Deep Ellum. The auction revolves around items that highlight the "DFW experience" including tickets to sporting events and spa and hotel packages.
