DALLAS -- The fourth annual Twin Peaks All-Star Bikini Event took place Wednesday night before a packed house at Gilley's in Dallas. After four rounds and close to two hours of pure entertainment, it was contestant No.11, Whitney from the Twin Peaks San Antonio-Dezavala that was crowned as Miss Twin Peaks 2014.
What began four years ago at the Twin Peaks in Addison with several hundred people filling up the sweltering hot tent constructed in the restaurant's parking lot has morphed into a huge event with over 1500 fans surrounding the runway set up inside the South Side Ballroom. Another major difference from the first contest is the amount of contestants going from 28 (top two girls from each of the then-14 locations) to one from each of the 51 Twin Peaks locations across the United States.
The show, which featured production values in line with huge runway fashion shows was broadcast live to every Twin Peaks restaurant. The ladies went through three different wardrobes including the red and black bikinis designed specifically for Twin Peaks by Sweet Revenge Bikinis, a bikini of their choice and the lingerie portion of the evening.
The judges panel that included The Ticket's Corby Davidson, Karen Hernandez from Sweet Revenge Bikinis, UFC fighter Miesha Tate, and former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Charles Haley would turn in their scores following each walk down the runway with the scores immediately entered into a computer to ensure there would not be a long delay for the fans. Following the lingerie segment, all 51 ladies took the stage with emcees Sean Bass and Ty Walker from Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket announcing the Top 10. They also announced the winner of Miss Congeniality and Miss Popular, which was decided by fans in attendance at Gilley's and every Twin Peaks restarant.
The remaining ten ladies would walk the runway clad in the "LumberJill" outfit with one last chance to impress the judges. The final votes were tallied and the winner of Miss Twin Peaks 2014 was announced with a standing ovation from the capacity crowd that included former University of Texas and NFL quarterback Vince Young.
As Miss Twin Peaks, Whitney won $5,000, a spread in the 2015 Twin Peaks Calendar and other modeling opportunities.
