GRAPEVINE -- The Miss Hooters Texas Swimsuit Pageant took place on a steamy Wednesday evening in Grapevine with the top 28 Hooters girls from across the Lone Star State. After three rounds, Brianna from the North Arlington Hooters was announced as Miss Hooters Texas.

Since Texas has 41 Hooters locations, it is split into regions that hold their own contest to send the best of the best to the Miss Texas event to Las Vegas. Texas is allotted 10 spots in the Miss Hooters International contest in Las Vegas, meaning the top 10 from this night will be packing their bags for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in June.

Inside a tent in the Grapevine Hooters parking lot constructed especially for this pageant, there was a stage with a runway surrounded by VIP tables and the judges' table, which included yours truly. When we arrived, there were five seats and only four judges as they saved one to auction off to a fan, with the money going to the local Wounded Warrior Foundation.

The first of the three rounds was a costume portion and featured the Hooters girls clad in outfits inspired by something that they are passionate about and that shows off their creativity. For the second round, the ladies wore a bikini of their choice, followed by all of them donning a black bikini for the final round.

The judges turned their ballots in and the top 10 were announced, culminating in the top 3: (3) Ananlyssa from Humble, (2) Cal from Fort Worth and (1) Brianna from North Arlington.

"I was so shocked when I heard my name," Brianna said. "I held back tears, but I am so excited about the opportunity to go to Las Vegas and represent the state of Texas."

Sports fans venturing to north Arlington to watch the Texas Rangers or Dallas Cowboys home games can drop by the Hooters on Collins Street and talk sports with Brianna. By the way, she is a big hockey fan, so you may want to talk about the Dallas Stars.
