Adopt me! Meet Cael

Posted 4:06pm on Wednesday, May. 21, 2014

ID No. 22181495

Male, Chihuahua mix, 6 years old

Cael is a brave 6-year-old Chihuahua mix who is currently looking for his forever home. Before coming to the Humane Society of North Texas, Cael was attacked by another dog. He lost an eye and barely escaped with his life. Luckily, he was admitted to HSNT, where he underwent surgery. After a relaxing stint in foster care, he is now doing better than ever. Staffers say that Cael is a playful dog who loves attention. He is a big fan of toys and entertains people with his antics. He also enjoys curling up in people’s laps and would make someone an excellent couch companion. In addition, he gets along great with other dogs. Cael needs a family that can look past his exterior and see the sweet, spunky dog within. Cael is current on vaccinations, heartworm-negative and neutered, and will be microchipped before heading home. Stop by and meet this courageous pup at HSNT’s Southwest Adoption Center today!

NOTE: Readers who follow this feature might note that Cael is our second “Pet of the Week” from the HSNT this week. That’s because, we’re delighted to report, our earlier featured pet, Norbert the cat, has been adopted! Even better, the HSNT also informed us that Shelly the border collie mix, whom we featured a few weeks ago, was adopted after her new owner read about her in DFW.com. We couldn’t be happier. So congrats to Norbert and Shelly, and their respective new forever families. Paws up!

The Humane Society of North Texas is at 1840 E. Lancaster Ave. and 6708 S. Hulen St., Fort Worth; 363 Keller Parkway, Keller; and 9009 Benbrook Blvd./U.S. 377 S, Benbrook. It is open for adoptions seven days a week. For hours and adoption information, call 817-332-4768 or visit www.hsnt.org.
