In the galleries: Brand 10 art space marks its relocation with film

Posted 9:31am on Thursday, Apr. 24, 2014

Brand 10 art space, the lovely white box gallery on Seventh Street, has relocated to the and X annex on South Locke Avenue, and X has morphed into brand 10. For the reopening, or relocating, the gallery is presenting a film and performance by After School Special. “House Party,” an installation, performance and film by Dallas-based artist Elissa Stafford, is inspired by educational TV from the 1980s and ’90s. In Stafford’s hands, the story lines end in worst-case scenarios. Taboo topics and bitter endings for the characters dressed in large plush cartoon heads are promised. The film and performance are 6-9 p.m. Saturday, April 26. The film and re-created installations of scenes will be available during gallery hours, 1-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, after the opening. 3511 Locke Ave., Fort Worth, 817-377-3636, www.brand10artspace.com.
