Fox 4 announces new meteorologist: Ali Turiano

Posted 11:59am on Tuesday, Apr. 22, 2014

KDFW/Channel 4 announced this morning that it has hired a new meteorolgist, Ali Turiano, who will begin contributing to weekend and other newscasts on May 28 (maybe she’ll get here before the triple-digit weather starts).

Turiano, who comes to Fox 4 after six years at Orlando-based Florida cable network News 13, fills a vacancy created when longtime meteorologist Ron Jackson retired in February. She has also worked for stations in Tampa, where she grew up and where she started as an intern, and in Elmira, N.Y., and Erie, Pa.

“I have always dreamed of being a part of the Dallas community and am looking forward to calling the ‘Big D’ my home,” Turiano says in a news release. “North Texas’ varied climate and great community make this job a dream come true.”

A graduate of Penn State, Turiano has a bachelor of Science in meteorology and has earned AMS Seal of Approval in Meteorology.

According to her News 13 bio, Turiano is orgiinally from Queens, N.Y., and became interested in weather when her family moved to Florida when she was a child.

We now have a new, simpler way for you to enter and search for events, at listings.dfw.com. As always, when you submit an event to appear online, it will also be available for us in our print publication. But now you can simply enter your event and provide an email address, rather than creating a separate account and registering. Our new listings tool is still a work in progress, so we appreciate your patience as we fine-tune it. Please contact us at hsvokos@dfw.com if you have any questions or concerns.
