Free lecture at the Kimbell

As part of the Kimbell Art Museum’s Art in Context series, curator Jennifer Casler Price will give a lecture titled “Cultivated Warriors: Samurai as Patrons of the Arts in Japan” on Wednesday. The program takes place at 12:30 p.m. in the Kahn Auditorium and is free. Reservations are not required, but seating is limited. 3333 Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth, 817-332-8451; www.kimbellart.org.

Family fun in the garden

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden hosts Family Discovery Day on Wednesday. Designed for children age 4 and up, this month’s program will focus on seeds. It’s 11 a.m.-noon in the Backyard Vegetable Garden. Free; no registration is required.
