Super Chix, which boasts that it has “last true chicken sandwich,” is about to launch -- and its first restaurant will be in Arlington, Ad Age reports .
The magazine says that the restaurant comes from Yum Bands, the parent company of KFC, although that is not noted on the Super Chix website. The restaurant’s grand opening is scheduled for April 9.
“Two things in particular stand out about the concept,” the Ad Age article states. “Nowhere does it reference that the concept is from the owner of KFC, and, second, its premium offering seems like a strike against Chick-fil-A.”
The Super Chix menu is pretty basic: chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, fries and, for a minor twist (or swirl), frozen custard. Oh, and salads. We’re not reminded of Chick-fil-A, but of Raising Cane’s and Zaxby’s.
The Arlington store -- reportedly a test concept, but we suspect there’ll be more -- will be at 612 Park Row Drive No. 620, which, Eater Dallas points out, is within five miles of at least four Chick-fil-A locations.
