Adopt me! Meet Daisy Lou

Posted 3:43pm on Tuesday, Apr. 01, 2014

Daisy Lou

ID No. A22319024

Female, Chihuahua and Dachshund mix, 5 months old, 8-10 pounds

Precious little Daisy Lou arrived as a stray with a littermate, thanks to a very nice person who saved them from the streets of Fort Worth. She is one of the many wonderful “Chi-weenies” (a cute nickname for the Dachshund and Chihuahua mixed breeds) at the Humane Society of North Texas. Sadly, these awesome little dogs are sometimes overlooked for their less glamorous coats or colors.

However, Daisy Lou is truly a gorgeous girl inside and out. Staffers at the HSNT say she’s a little shy at first but quickly makes friends and shares her happy enthusiasm for life with her new friends. She is probably not going to be more than 10-12 pounds and has a lot of puppy love and adventures to share with a forever family. She will thrive with a family that can take the time to train her and to give her daily exercise and playtime. Also, she should do well with a family with kids or other dogs, as long as they are gentle and friendly with her. Daisy Lou is current on her vaccines and will be spayed and microchipped once adopted. Visit Daisy Lou and all her pals at the East Lancaster location!

The Humane Society of North Texas is at 1840 E. Lancaster Ave. and 6708 S. Hulen St., Fort Worth; 363 Keller Parkway, Keller; and 9009 Benbrook Blvd./U.S. 377 S, Benbrook. It is open for adoptions seven days a week. For hours and adoption information, call 817-332-4768 or visit www.hsnt.org, where you can also view adoptable animals.
