Fat Tuesday in DFW: 2014 edition

Fat Tuesday has evolved into one of the bigger party days of the year in DFW. It’s also the perfect excuse to drink on a weeknight. This year, Fat Tuesday falls on March 4, which means there’s still time to make plans and stake out one of the hotter spots for the holiday.

Reservoir in Fort Worth’s vibrant West 7th corridor is having a Fat Tuesday crawfish boil, 5-11 p.m., with DJ D-Roz spinning from 10 p.m. to close. Drink specials include $5 SoCo limes and $6 hurricanes, with complimentary beads all night long.

McFadden’s Addison is hosting a Fat Tuesday bash with a crawfish boil, drink specials on hurricanes and 16-ounce Abita cans. There is also “Deeds for Beads” contest with cash and prizes. Wear your Mardi Gras mask before 11 p.m. and get your first drink for $1.

Chill Baris having a crawfish boil from 5 to 9 p.m. The party at the Grapevine hot spot also features live music from James Hinds.

Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe is celebrating every day through Tuesday, offering boiled crawfish for $4.99 a pound (subject to availability), raw oysters for $8.99 a dozen and $5.99 a half-dozen, $3.50 frozen hurricanes, $3 Abita drafts, $4 rat toes, and $3 fried pickles.

The Pour House in Fort Worth is hosting its annual Fat Tuesday party with specials on hurricanes and live music from Look Out beginning at 9:30 p.m.

Twilite Lounge in Deep Ellum will have David Washburn’s jazz band take the stage for its celebration. Music starts at 10 p.m. with drink specials and “opportunities for bead acquisition.”

Sundown at Granada is hosting a Fat Tuesday bash beginning at 5 p.m. and featuring $2 select drafts, $3 jambalaya and $4 Fireball. Entertainment will be provided by Club Wood and DJ Blake Ward.

Sisu Uptown is hosting a big party featuring Cajun food specials and DJ Avi spinning.

LUXX Nightclub in downtown Dallas is hosting its second annual Mystical Mardi Gras party.

Blend Lounge on Lower Greenville is hosting a Fat Tuesday party. This is the location that formerly housed the popular Kinki Lounge.

Lake Dallas is hosting its ninth annual Mardi Gras Celebration from 5-9 p.m. with a parade beginning at 5:30 at Lake Dallas City Hall. This family-friendly event features free children’s activities including a bounce house, face painter, juggler, balloon artist and craft station. There will also be a mobile photo studio, food trucks, a costume contest and a crawfish eating contest.

The Free Man Cajun Cafe and Lounge in downtown Dallas is hosting a Mardi Gras week celebration through March 4. The Fat Tuesday Tumble through Deep Ellum begins between 5 and 6 and ends back at the Free Man, where there will be live music from the Free Loaders.

Zen Bar in The Colony is having a Fat Tuesday Crawfish Boil with $4 Hurricanes, $4 Hand Grenades and $4 SoCo. The Music Ninjas perform live from 5-9 with DJSC spinning from 9-2
