The John Wayne Film Festival, which had been a yearly event in the small West Texas town of Snyder, is moving to North Texas with a four-day run at Dallas’ Look Cinemas April 24-27. Some of Wayne’s films will be shown and there will be Wayne co-stars and family members appearing for Q&A sessions. The schedule of films and guest speakers has not been released.

The festival, now in its fourth year, is the brainchild of Texas actor Barry Tubb, who is known for roles in Lonesome Dove and Top Gun. Chairing the festival are lawyer Steve Stodghill, his wife Anna, and Dallas literary agent David Hale Smith. All proceeds go to the John Wayne Cancer Foundation.

We now have a new, simpler way for you to enter and search for events, at listings.dfw.com. As always, when you submit an event to appear online, it will also be available for us in our print publication. But now you can simply enter your event and provide an email address, rather than creating a separate account and registering. Our new listings tool is still a work in progress, so we appreciate your patience as we fine-tune it. Please contact us at hsvokos@dfw.com if you have any questions or concerns.
