Adopt me! Meet Rocky the Dachshund

Posted 10:41am on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013

ID No. A09593446

Male, miniature smooth-haired Dachshund, 7 years old, 17 pounds

Rocky is a handsome and playful guy who needs a Doxie-loving home. He is a “tweenie,” as Dachshund aficionados call them — somewhere between the mini and standard sizes, so he is a lot of dog in a small package. He exhibits many breed characteristics, such as being very independent, vocal and sometimes stubborn. Rocky is a big fan of wet food but will not touch dry kibbles. He came to the Humane Society of North Texas because his elderly owners could not keep up with his level of energy. Rocky played well with the other dog in his home, but would be happiest in a home without children. He is on the tubby side and would love an exercise buddy for the holidays! Rocky has been at HSNT nearly three months now and is eager for his forever family to come find him. He is already neutered, heartworm-negative and vaccinated, so he can go home as soon as he is adopted. Please visit him at the HSNT’s East Lancaster location today!

The Humane Society of North Texas (1840 E. Lancaster Ave. and 6708 S. Hulen St., Fort Worth, and 363 Keller Parkway, Keller) is open for adoptions seven days a week. For hours and adoption information, call 817-332-4768 or visit www.hsnt.org, where you can also view adoptable animals.
