George Strait has set an end date for his “Cowboy Rides Away” tour: June 7, 2014.
He’ll close out his tour at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium, but he won’t be doing so alone.
The country icon’s publicist has confirmed the Texas native will be joined by an impressive line-up of Nashville talent, each of whom will be performing mini, three-song sets: Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Ronnie Dunn, Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride and Lee Ann Womack.
The opening act for Strait’s farewell to live performance will be Asleep at the Wheel. Although Strait will no longer tour regularly, the release announcing the AT&T Stadium show details does allow that he will “continue to record new music for longtime label home MCA Records and will perform select dates across the country after the tour has wrapped.”
Tickets for the sure-to-be-sold out affair at AT&T Stadium go on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 6, via Strait’s website.
