Elephant babies Belle and Bowie were treated to candy corn-shaped ice blocks and other treats in the Fort Worth Zoo’s Asian elephant exhibit.

The event was staged to promote Boo At The Zoo, the popular annual Halloween celebration that begins Friday and continues through Sunday. For the first time in its 22-year history, Boo at the Zoo is free with zoo admission.

The event features carnival games, costume parades, trick-or-treat stations throughout the zoo, crafts, a pumpkin patch and strolling entertainers. There will be a magician and the Drummin’ Monkeys at the Special Events Pavilian and Zoo animal stage shows at the Outdoor Learning Theater. Animal keepers will have Halloween-themed treats at many of the exhibits and hang around to chat with guests. - Terry Evans
