Lonesome Dove Western Bistro to reopen Oct. 24

Posted 4:24pm on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013

Word comes from Tim Love’s people that Lonesome Dove Western Bistro will reopen Oct. 24, just over two months after it was closed due to a fire.

The Aug. 20 fire, which was reported just before 6:30 a.m. and began in the back of the restaurant, destroyed the kitchen and caused heavy smoke damage to the dining room and other areas of the restaurant. Love told DFW.com on that day that he would be closed for about 60 days. Considering the delays that often happen with restaurant openings and reopenings, he was remarkably close in his prediction.

According to a release, Love’s employees worked at other Love properties (he also owns Woodshed Smokehouse, Queenie’s Steakhouse in Denton and Love Shack) while Lonesome Dove was being renovated. Lonesome Dove’s kitchen was not only restored, but updated, which will allow for expanded menu offerings. There will also be a new lighting design and refurbished ceiling.

Lonesome Dove is at 2406 N. Main St. in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
