The Rustic to open Oct. 16 in Dallas

Posted 12:11pm on Monday, Oct. 07, 2013

We told you back in January about the new Uptown spot from Free Range Concepts and Texas country singer Pat Green called the Rustic that was in the works to open later in 2013. The Rustic, with its prime spot on the corner of Lemmon Ave. and North Central Expressway in the West Village neighborhood, has announced its official opening date of Oct. 16 with dinner service.

The action will all get underway with what is being called "The Opening Act: Pre-Opening Party Weekend." Thursday, Oct. 10 at 9:30 p.m. Pat Green will perform in concert (this show is already sold out). Friday Oct. 11 features the 'Sneak Peek Dinner/Music night with doors opening at 4 p.m. and live music (local bands) from 7 through midnight. Saturday is the Texas-OU watching party that begins at 8 a.m. with a live broadcast from ESPN Radio, the game at 11 a.m. and a Pat Green concert following the game around 2:30 (Tickets are $30 and available here). Sunday, Oct. 13 is 'Sunday Funday at the Rustic' with live music beginning at 2:30 p.m. and a Dallas Cowboys watch party beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Pat Green has teamed with Josh Sepkowitz and Kyle Noonan's Free Range Concepts and local businessman Brian Manion to open the full service restaurant and bar. Spekowitz and Noonan are the team behind the popular Bowl & Barrel, Mutts Cantina and the new television series Local Fare and Green is a Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter. Celebrated chef Sharon Hage has been working with the Rustic team to develop the menu and Matt Balke will run the day-to-day operation as executive chef.

The Rustic's menu will feature 'approachable comfort food' including burgers, sandwiches and grill items like quail and pork ribs. The bar will feature 40 beers on draft, cocktails and a notable wine list.

"We created The Rustic to be a place to relax and socialize with friends and family," said Noonan. "In my mind, there is nothing better than gathering with friends on a Texas ranch and grilling under the stars. We think The Rustic creates that experience in the heart of the city."

The Rustic will open for dinner 4 p.m.-midnight seven days a week with luch planned for later in October.
