Opera Overture

The Fort Worth Opera presents “Opera Overture: “Portrait of a Silenced Saint” 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St. The event will introduce audiences to With Blood, With Ink, which will premiere at the 2014 Opera Festival. Performances by Opera Studio artists and a Q&A with composer-librettists Daniel Crozier and Peter M. Krask and Fort Worth Opera General Director Darren Woods will take place. ’Tis the season for giving

Attend Christmas in Cowtown at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum beginning Thursday, Oct. 3. Hosted by the Junior Leage of Fort Worth, the annual holiday gift market features a variety of items, including home decor, clothing and gourmet food. The event is open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. $10; children 5 and under get in free.
