On the heels of successful openings in Mockingbird Station in Dallas and its inaugural Ice House concept in north Irving, the Dallas-based Twin Peaks continued its rapid growth with the opening of its first Fort Worth mountain-lodge themed sports restaurant in the popular Fossil Creek area. Their soft-opening week was anything but, as they quietly opened their doors on Monday, Sept. 16 ,at 5 p.m. and had hour-plus waits and an overflowing parking lot by the weekend.

“We are so excited to open Twin Peaks’ first restaurant in Fort Worth at Fossil Creek,” said Kristen Colby, Twin Peaks’ senior director of marketing. “Our DFW area fan base has continued to grow and now was the perfect time to give our Fort Worth fans their own convenient location to enjoy our incredible menu and watch all their favorite teams on our state-of-the-art televisions.”

Twin Peaks Fossil Creek features over 55 HD flat screens, an oversized wrap-around covered patio that is complete with a large fire pit and a full-service bar with 24 beers on tap. As with every Twin Peaks location, the beers are poured at its signature 29-degrees.

We dropped by on a Sunday evening to watch Sunday Night Football and while the Bears-Steelers game will not go down as one of the more entertaining NFL contests I have watched, the food -- I always get the grilled Shrimp & Chicken Basket -- was right on the money. My buddies had the Sampler Platter and Smokehouse Burger and the consensus was they did not disappoint.

“Our ice cold beer, made-from-scratch menu and top-notch service from the Twin Peaks Girls is what sets us apart from other sports restaurants and has made us the go-to hot spot for sports fans in DFW,” Colby said.

Speaking of the Twin Peaks Girls -- known as the concept's signature assets -- there will be over 80 ladies employed at the new location. Of note, the new Twin Peaks is within a five mile radius from the brand new Ricky Bobby Sports Saloon & Restaurant from the fine folks at Ricks Cabaret International and Redneck Heaven, the breastaurant with its own reality show on MTV, Big Tips Texas. Factoring in the traffic in the I-35W/820 corridor, it could easily take 20-30 minutes to get from one of those eateries to another, Twin Peaks' biggest competition will likely come from the upcoming BoomerJacks Grill & Bar located right next door and set to open Oct. 9.
