Fun times in the vegetable garden

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden will be hosting its monthly Little Sprouts program Tuesday, Sept. 24. Designed specifically for children ages 18 months to 3, this month’s class will focus on fall leaves. The program is at 1 p.m. in the Backyard Vegetable Garden and is free to the public. No registration is required, but space is limited. Children participating in the class must be accompanied by an adult. 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd., Fort Worth, 817-871-7686, http://fwbg.org.

Lecture at the Amon Carter on Thursday

Plan now to reserve a spot for the Amon Carter Museum of American Art’s upcoming lecture, “Conserving the Caves.” Director of conservation Claire Barry will be discussing her work on the Amon Carter’s recent acquisition of the Robert Seldon Duncanson painting The Caves. It takes place at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26. Free to the public. Reservations are required; call 817-989-5030 or email visitors@cartermuseum.org. 3501 Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth, 817-738-1933; www.cartermuseum.org.
