The circle of life
The Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge will be hosting an informational program called Monarchs and Milkweeds this Saturday, Aug. 31. Those attending the program will learn how milkweed plants play an important role to the invertebrate community (including monarchs) and will have the chance to search out patches of milkweed and view the natural communities that thrive in them. Art for a cause
Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas hosts the ninth annual ArtSi Art Show and silent auction this Saturday, Aug. 31. Taking place inside the Galeria De La Rosa at the Rose Marine Theater, the event includes live music, food, drinks and lots of art. All proceeds from the event go toward funding scholarships given by the Latinas In Progress program. The event takes place at 6 p.m., and admission is $10 per person.
