Central Market Fort Worth to debut beer on tap next week

Posted 7:15am on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013

Central Market Fort Worth announced in a release Tuesday that it will be the first retail store in Tarrant County to offer 19 specialty microbrews on tap.

The former wine room at Central Market Fort Worth has been remodeled, and will feature a 14-foot bar and desk area made of reclaimed oak from Richmond, Va. The back wall will contain 19 beer taps. Customers can purchase 32-oz. and 64-oz. growlers that can be filled from the taps, and can be returned to the store for additional refills. If you have your own growler already, you can bring that in, too.

Austin Jourde, general manager of CM Fort Worth, said that the store decided to do this after the success of recent launch events for Revolver Brewing and Martin House Brewing Co. at the store.

Revolver’s High Brass, Bock and Mothers’ Little Fracker Stout, and Martin House’s There Will Be Stout pretzel stout and River Saison will be among the beers on tap.

From Sept. 11 through Sept. 24, the Central Market locations in Fort Worth and Southlake will hold “Brewniversity,” a fest in which a number of brewmasters from North Texas and elsewhere will give demonstrations and lessons in craft beer and food pairings with beer.
