Brownstone to have casino night for Kidd’s Kids

Posted 2:34pm on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013

Caroline Cradick, daughter of longtime DFW radio personality Kidd Kraddick, continues to keep her father’s legacy alive by co-hosting a Charity Casino Night benefiting Kidd’s Kids at 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Brownstone in Fort Worth.

Billy the Kidd, afternoon DJ at KHKS/106.1 KISS-FM — Kraddick’s radio home in DFW for more than 20 years — will spin music at the event, which will feature blackjack tables, slots, craps and roulette.

Donations will benefit Kidd’s Kids, the charity the late Kraddick founded. Each year, the charity sends chronically and terminally ill children and their families on an all-expenses-paid trip to Disney World.

Kraddick, whose real name was David “Kidd” Kradick, died July 27 of cardiac disease at age 53. He spoke so often about Caroline on his Kidd Kraddick in the Morning radio show that many listeners felt like they knew her. She participated in a “Tribute to Kidd” last week in Dallas, during which her a cappella performance of Over the Rainbow was an emotional highlight.

UPDATE: Just heard from the owners of Elite Casino Events, who are co-hosting the casino night. They say that they expect a packed house and that wristbands can be ordered in advance. For pre-orders or other information, call (214) 390-9425.
