New group Shotgun Friday forms

Posted 11:36am on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013

In a shocking announcement Monday, Matthew Broyles, Tony Drewry and Adrian “Doc” Cook have split from Fish Fry Bingo to form a new band called Shotgun Friday.

The new band will consist of Blackie Graham on upright bass and vocals; Broyles on guitar and vocals; Cook on electric washboard, percussion and vocals and Drewry on banjo, guitar and vocals.

“We’re keeping most of the gigs we already had on the books,” says Drewry. “[We] should have an updated schedule soon on the Shotgun Friday Facebook page. Part of the new band plan is back to more Fort Worth shows. Dan Benjamin will be carrying on Fish Fry Bingo with some of the original members of the band that predated us as a ‘four-piece punk infused hillbilly band.’”
