O.A.R. to headline pre-race show at AAA Texas 500

Posted 11:11pm on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013

The popular rock band Of A Revolution, perhaps better known as O.A.R. will take the reigns of performing the pre-race concert prior to the AAA Texas 500 NASCAR race on November 3 at Texas Motor Speedway.

O.A.R. will take the stage on the front stretch at 12:20 p.m. and perform a free hour-long concert prior to the 2 p.m. start of the race. The band members are avid NASCAR fans and have previously performed during the 2008 Nationwide Series Awards Banquet and the NASCAR Rev'd Up fan event during the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race activities in Charlotte in 2009. The group also appeared on the hood of driver Brian Vickers NASCAR Sprint Cup Series No. 25 Monte Carlo SS during the 2006 Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond International Raceway.

O.A.R. featured NASCAR's most popular driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr. in the music video of its 2004 hit "Right on Time." Additionally, the band's single "This Town" was the theme music for NASCAR's 'My, Your, Our NASCAR' 2009 promotion.

As race fans in Fort Worth who have already been treated to such big pre-race entertainment acts as Sara Evans, Foreigner and the Eli Young Band prior to several of the recent races well know, there is a $79 pre-race pass available that allows access to walk out on the track for an up close view of the concert. This pass also gives fans the chance to be right in the middle of the action for the driver's introductions.
