Back in May, Rockstar Bakeshop served their last whoopie pie when owners Kristin and Denver Leonard decided it was time to focus attention on their family. Since that time, there has been a gap in the Dallas truck scene with customers missing their favorite desserts and event planners frustrated that there aren't enough dessert trucks to cover the need. Since they closed, Kristin and Denver have been hoping to sell the truck, brand, and recipes to someone with the passion and skills needed to bring the whoopie pies back to the street.

That person has been found. I just received an email from Craig Garza letting me know that as soon as the ink dries he will be the new owner of Rockstar Bakeshop! Craig tells me that everything will stay the same except the baker. Look for Rockstar and their whoopie pies to be back on the streets the first weekend in September. You can follow Rockstar Bakeshop on Facebook and Twitter to get specific information about the relaunch location; I suspect it will be a busy day for them!

Welcome to the food truck scene Craig and thanks for bringing whoopie pies back to the streets!
