Twin Peaks opens in Mockingbird Station

Posted 11:24pm on Sunday, Aug. 04, 2013

DALLAS -- Twin Peaks, the Dallas-based sports bar/restaurant that bills itself as the 'Ultimate Man Cave,' opened its eighth DFW location this week in Mockingbird Station. The new Twin Peaks is located between Trinity Hall and the Angelika Film Center that formerly housed the upscale nightspot Deux Lounge.

The newest Twin Peaks is the second-largest location of the chain that opened its new prototype Twin Peaks Ice House in North Irving this past May. There are 62 HD TVs, a lounge area that surrounds an over-sized fireplace, a fire pit and a year-round patio complete with garage doors that can open up to the restaurant. The two full-service bars featuring 24 draft beers also include several local brews.

"It is a great accomplishment for us to open an eighth restaurant in our hometown so soon after introducing Twin Peaks' first ice house and brew pub in North Irving," said Randy DeWitt, CEO of Twin Peaks. "DFW is our largest market and this kind of fast growth really highlights our success."

The latest Twin Peaks has a wide-open feel with plenty of room to maneuver between the bars, tables and booths. Speaking of the booths, each one has its own flat-screen monitor for showing sports. While we were visiting, the Pro Football Hall of Fame inductions featuring former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Larry Allen and head coach Bill Parcells was being featured on both ESPN and the NFL Network.

While Twin Peaks is known for its 29-degree beer, house-breaded Chicken Fried Steak, Ribeye Pot Roast and the Hangover Burger from its 'comfort food menu,' I drifted out of my comfort zone and opted for something different with the grilled version of the Shrimp & Chicken Basket. It was far and away my favorite item I have had in any of my visits to Twin Peaks.

Of note for fans of Twin Peaks, with this being one of the larger restaurants in the concept, it will be home to more than 80 Twin Peaks girls. Next up for Twin Peaks in DFW will be a location in the Fossil Creek area of Fort Worth.
