Performers with Cowtown connections on 'America's Got Talent'

Posted 4:34pm on Monday, Jul. 29, 2013

Those who like to cheer performers with Cowtown ties on network competition shows have more than one reason to do so this week. At 8 p.m. Tuesday, America’s Got Talent, the popular NBC series, will throw the spotlight on two guys with more than a passing acquaintance with life in the 817.

Yet, while these two might share some Fort Worth memories, they have very different specialties.

Timber Brown, “a male pole dancer” who does acrobatic feats using two poles, and opera singer Sean Panikkar, a member of the vocal group Forte who has sung with the Fort Worth Opera, will be competing from New York City’s Radio City Music Hall.

Brown is from Fort Worth but now lives in Las Vegas and Michigan-based Pannikar has relatives -- his wife’s grandparents -- here. He came to town earlier this year to perform in La Boheme and he will return next year to play the lead in the Opera’s The Pearl Fishers.
