It was mere weeks ago that DFW.com reviewed the new Ryan’s Fine Grocer and Delicatessen, which opened early this year on Magnolia Avenue in Fort Worth. Now we’re hearing that the place is closed, at least for the time being.
One of those dreaded “Notice of Exercise of Contractual Lien/Notice of Changed Locks” letters was seen on the door Friday at the upscale grocery store/deli. The letter says that owners Brittany and Hunter Ryan are delinquent more than $22,000 on their rent.
Brittany Ryan declined to comment when asked about the situation.
Restaurants can bounce back from situations such as this, as happened with Patrizio Fort Worth a couple of months ago.
Siblings Brittany and Hunter Ryan, who used to work at Lightcatcher Winery in far west Fort Worth -- and are related to the Ryans that give Fort Worth’s Ryan Place neighborhood its name -- opened Ryan’s early this year. Both Ryans are graduates of the French Culinary Institute in New York City, and they wanted to bring a neighborhood grocery/deli to the burgeoning area.
As of this writing, the Ryan’s Neighborhood Grocer and Delicatessen Facebook page remains active.
