After a pair of intense EPs (2008s The Delve and 2011s Fireworks Child), Denton-based singer-songwriter Jessie Frye is gearing up to release her debut full-length, Obsidian, later this year. The first single from the eagerly anticipated LP is due out next month.
Frye cut the 10-song album (which was funded via a successful Kickstarter campaign) at The Track in Plano, working with producers Matt Aslanian and Jordan Martin.
She was kind enough to pass along a taste of her new sound, which you can hear below on Never Been to Paris. Frye sounds like shes going for broke on her new record, dramatically expanding an already dense sonic palette. Gorgeous stuff.
Obsidian is scheduled for release in October.
