Oh, how you guys duked it out for your favorite burgers in the Readers’ Bracket.

While the judges were eating their way across North Texas, thousands of you were casting votes and making your voices heard online at DFW.com.

The fiercest battle in this Sweet 16 round was between Grand Prairie’s Mixed-Up Burgers and Grease Monkey of Arlington. Their fans racked up a total of 3,000-plus votes in a nonstop nailbiter that went right down to the wire. When voting closed at noon Wednesday, Mixed Up won by a razor-thin margin of 10 votes.

There were other tight battles, too, like Jakes edging Maple & Motor by only 66 votes. And in an 11th-hour surge, Chop House charged ahead of Tommy’s to win by 127 votes. Chop House was the leading vote getter in Round 2 with nearly 1,900 votes.

Other favorites that won their battles handily in Round 2 included Kincaid’s, Fred’s, Rodeo Goat, Twisted Root and Tom’s Burgers in Arlington.

For more details on how Round 2 played out, check out the Bracket tab of our DFW Burger App.

Up next is Round 3, where you’ll get to determine which of the Elite 8 burgers will advance to the Readers’ Bracket Final Four. Be sure to cast your votes at DFW.com/burgers. Round 3 voting is open until noon on Wednesday, July 31.
