CBS 11 names Scott Padgett morning meterologist

Posted 1:37pm on Monday, Jul. 22, 2013

KTVT/Channel 11 announced Monday that Scott Padgett will join its weather team as morning meterologist.

Padgett’s scheduled on-air start date for the 4:30-7 a.m. weekdays CBS 11 News This Morning is Sept. 16. He comes to CBS 11 from WPLG in Miami, where he was morning meteorologist (until recently, according to an SFLTV post that predicted his exit), but his parents, sister and her family all live in North Texas, according to a station release.

Padgett has also worked at stations in Kentucky and Iowa, as well as in Baltimore and Oklahoma City. He has a bachelor’s degree in meteorology from Western Illinois University.

He’ll fill the vacancy left by the departure of Garry Seith, which we posted about last week. Attempts to reach Seith have been unsuccessful.
