Alamo daze

Get ready to head over to Richardson on Saturday for the first event in the run-up to the opening of North Texas’ first Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, the latest outpost for the much-loved Austin chain. The theater doesn’t officially open until Aug. 9 but they’re giving a taste of what they’re going to be doing by hosting an outdoor summer film series for the next three Saturdays. It starts this week with Richard Linklater’s Texas classic Dazed and Confused. Begins at sunset Saturday (gates open a 6:30 p.m.). Free. Alamo Drafthouse, 100 S. Central Expressway, Richardson. 972-534-2120; http://drafthouse.com/dfw/richardson
