Beyoncé at American Airlines Center
It almost feels as though the epicenter of pop culture will be situated, however briefly, upon North Texas when Houston native Beyoncé brings her first of two planned “Mrs. Carter Show” concerts to Dallas (the second is scheduled for Dec. 9; this stop sold out in minutes) almost four years to the day after her last concert here. The single-monikered pop star, wife to hip-hop icon Jay-Z and mother to Blue Ivy, is reportedly working on a new album as a follow-up to 2011’s 4, which may see the light of day before Queen B returns. With Luke James.
8 p.m. Saturday. American Airlines Center, Dallas. Sold out.
Tedeschi Trucks Band at House of Blues
The couple that plays together, stays together, and in the case of husband and wife Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, it’s true. The guitar-wielding spouses (who married in 2001; Tedeschi handles the vocals) formed the group in 2010, after taking a hiatus from their respective solo projects. The blues-rockers are touring ahead of the August release of the Tedeschi Trucks Band’s sophomore LP, Made Up Mind. With Rayland Baxter.
8 p.m. Wednesday. House of Blues, Dallas. $35-$85.
