Kings of the Mic at Verizon Theatre
In most musical genres, stars can age gracefully, more or less. But in hip-hop, ceding the spotlight to the next generation is a little bit trickier. Nevertheless, that truism doesnt stop elder statesmen and women from trying to keep a career alive, no matter how long its been since their heyday. LL Cool J, fresh from hosting the Grammys, headlines this throwback event, and old-school hip-hop-heads will doubtless be in full effect. With Ice Cube, Public Enemy, De La Soul & DJ Z-Trip.
