Producers of Who Wants to be a Millionaire will be in DFW on July 8 to auditions contestants for the new season. And when I say “DFW,” I mean nearly 60 miles from downtown FW. But that’s OK, one session starts so early, you should be able to beat the traffic.
Contestant auditions consist of a timed multiple-choice test and, if you pass, an interview with a show producer. Auditions will take place from 7 to 10 a.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 8, at the Hilton Garden Inn Dallas/Allen, 705 Central Expressway S. in Allen. There will also be a 7 p.m., session testing contestants exclusively for “Movie Week,” which is for film buffs answering movie-themed trivia (Crowley’s Amanda Davis appeared during Movie Week in February).
Auditions will be first-come, first-served. You must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. resident. For many more details, see the Millionaire website.
The new season of Millionaire will premiere at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 2 on KXAS/Channel 5. On Sept. 3, the show will move to 1 p.m. weekdays. Cedric “The Entertainer” will be the host this season, taking over for Meredith Vieira, who is leaving the show.
