Cliburn podcast: Sizing up the semifinals

Posted 7:55am on Friday, May. 31, 2013

After nearly a week and 60 piano recitals, the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition at Bass Hall will be shifting its focus to who among the 30 young competitors will advance to the semifinals.

Our Cliburn team has been at the Hall since the opening note, and in this podcast Cliburn editor Stephanie Allmon and reporters Tim Madigan and Andrew Marton, share their thoughts on how this year's Cliburn stacks up against past competitions. And if any of the performers have flashed that elusive star quality yet.

Listen in on their conversation below and check star-telegram.com/cliburn for live coverage of the competition.

We now have a new, simpler way for you to enter and search for events, at listings.dfw.com. As always, when you submit an event to appear online, it will also be available for us in our print publication. But now you can simply enter your event and provide an email address, rather than creating a separate account and registering. Our new listings tool is still a work in progress, so we appreciate your patience as we fine-tune it. Please contact us at hsvokos@dfw.com if you have any questions or concerns.
