Fort Worth's Coyote Drive-In opens under the stars

Posted 9:42am on Tuesday, May. 07, 2013

The Coyote Drive-In launched Monday night with a "pre-opening" week providing a sneak peek of the venue, just north of downtown Fort Worth.

Through Thursday night, the drive-in will show double features of classic movies such as Back to the Future and Jaws. About 150 carloads of patrons were allowed inside to watch movies on the three screens. First-run movies will begin on Friday. The complex, when fully operational, will accommodate about 1,300 cars.

The drive-in's snack bar and outdoor dining area, called The Canteen is open with a limited menu. The complex has a playground and will allow dogs as long as they're on a leash.

The drive-in has limited capacity this week and officials recommend buying tickets in advance through the Coyote website, linked above. Tickets are $6-$8 for each double feature.
