Turning Japanese

Our favorite spring event in an outdoor garden is, well, the annual Spring Festival in the Japanese Garden at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. It concludes 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd., Fort Worth. $3-$5. 817-871-7686; www.fwbg.org

Book buy

Don't bring your tablets or e-readers to the Friends of the Fort Worth Public Library Book Sale. Just come with some cash and go old-school, buying an actual book (or CD or DVD). It's noon-4:30 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at the Friends of the Library Chapter 2 Annex in the Wedgwood Village Shopping Center, 5332 Trail Lake Drive, Fort Worth. Admission is $1. fortworthtexas.gov/library/
