F&R's TX Blended Whiskey won "Best American Craft Whiskey" and "Double Gold" at the competition, which took place in March. It's the largest spirits competition in the U.S. and the most recognized in the world. (The results page of its website gives you some idea just how big -- distillers and importers submitted 1,407 spirits from 63 countries into 85 different classifications.)
TX Blended Whiskey is created in small batches, with a methodical and local approach. Distillery co-founders Leonard Firestone and Troy Robertson put a handcrafted touch on every aspect of this artisanal product. The founders are also crafting a straight bourbon whiskey that is produced with indigenous Texas ingredients and resources, which is currently in the aging process.
