Since their mutual parting with ESPN 103.3 FM earlier this year, the popular sports talk radio hosts Ben Rogers and Jeff 'Skin' Wade, better known as 'Ben and Skin,' have fielded questions about where and when they'll be back.
Word is their "non-compete clause" is up at the beginning of May, but their loyal fans will have the chance to hang out the duo on Thursday, April 11, at the Mucky Duck Bar in Addison. The guys are hosting the Trivia Bash extravaganza.
Events such as this are the big reason they have so many followers who have stuck with them through the years as they've been on The Ticket, The Fan and ESPN Radio. Their biggest fans can even recall their short-lived stint on FOX Sports Radio 1190 and the Dallas Mavericks television broadcasts on KSTAR 49.
The trivia starts at 8 p.m. with prizes for the winners including a special prize from Up in Smoke. The Rangers are on the west coast to play Seattle, and the late start time of 9:10 p.m. is perfect for those who want to watch the game with guys.
Since the "non-compete" only applies to radio, Ben and Skin have stayed in the public eye since leaving ESPN. Skin is part of the Emmy-winning Dallas Mavericks broadcast while Ben has been on the Texas Legends television broadcasts. They are also so active on Twitter that they have been able to stay in touch with fans on all the latest topics, including Josh Hamilton's return to Texas, Lamar Odom's return to Dallas and, of course, Tony Romo's new contract.
Now that fans know it is likely they will be back on local radio in a matter of weeks, the tweets can change from "when are you coming back?" to "where are you going?" Knowing these guys, they'd welcome the feedback from fans via Twitter as to where they would like to see them end up.
